Cookie policy

Which cookies this site uses, who sets them, how long they last, and exactly how to refuse the ones you do not want. Read this alongside the privacy policy.

This policy explains how Evez uses cookies and similar technologies at evez.online (the “Site”). It sits alongside our privacy policy, which covers personal information more broadly.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make sites work, to make them work better, and to tell site owners how their pages are being used.

We also use related technologies such as pixels, web beacons, and local storage. This policy calls all of them “cookies” for simplicity.

2. How we use them

We use cookies to keep the Site working and secure, to remember your consent choice, to understand which guides are read and where readers get stuck, and to display the advertising that keeps every guide free. They fall into three groups.

Nothing non-essential loads until you allow it

Where the law requires consent, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied under Google Consent Mode v2 until you choose otherwise, and the scripts themselves are not loaded. Declining costs you nothing: every guide is complete either way.

3. The third parties involved

Because the Site uses Google AdSense, Google Analytics 4, and Microsoft Clarity, some cookies are set by those companies under their own policies.

Google AdSense (advertising). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites. These may be set from domains including doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com and googleadservices.com. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Analytics 4 (analytics). Collects aggregated statistics such as pages viewed, session length, and traffic source. IP addresses are anonymised and are not logged or stored by default in GA4.

Microsoft Clarity (analytics and session replay). Records behavioural metrics, heatmaps, and session replay, including mouse movement, clicks, scroll depth and pages visited, with text and input fields automatically masked. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

4. Cookies at a glance

Cookie names and lifetimes are set by these third parties and change from time to time. This table is a good-faith guide, not a guarantee.

5. Your choices

Our consent banner

Where the law requires it, we show a banner letting you accept or decline non-essential cookies before they are set. You can change that choice at any time by reopening the banner from the link in the site footer.

Your browser

Every major browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies, including blocking third-party cookies specifically:

Advertising opt-outs

Analytics opt-out

Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to stop your data being used by Google Analytics on every site you visit.

Global Privacy Control

We honour Global Privacy Control signals. Where GPC applies, we treat it as a request to opt out of “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising for that browser.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because the industry never agreed a standard for how sites should respond to it, this Site does not act on DNT signals. We do act on Global Privacy Control, as described above.

7. What happens if you decline

Every guide on this Site is static HTML and is fully readable with all non-essential cookies refused and JavaScript disabled entirely. Declining means we see less about how the Site is used and the advertising you see is contextual rather than personalised. It does not hide, shorten, or paywall any content.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be posted here and the date at the top of the page updated.

9. Contact

Questions about our use of cookies, or a cookie you spotted that is not in the table above, are genuinely welcome at contact@evez.online.
